A Boeing 737-500 belonging to Sriwijaya Air is missing off the cost of Jakarta Indonesia A/C tail reg is: PK-CLC named Cirta.

The 737 was a former Continental/United 737-500.

The aircraft was operating flight SJ182

It fell 10,000 feet in less than a minute and debris seen in the sea. 62 people on board. Tragic and a terrible start to the year

Really not a good start to the year, and another sad day in Indonesian aviation.

I wonder what the cause could have been? It seems to have suffered a catastrophic failure to have fallen out of the sky with no warning.
