What do airport info do people input when the spot an aircraft in flight above where they live?

Hi Marcus and welcome

OTT is the standard code for sightings when flying overhead.

But if you are near an airport, and it goes overhead on final approach or just taking off, you might prefer to log it with the airport code. I often visit Abu Dhabi and if I'm sitting outside having dinner on Yas Island and see the aircraft going overhead about 20 seconds after taking off, I log them as AUH.
