Germanwings A320 Crashes In Southern France

A Germanwings A320 flying from Barcelona to Dusseldorf has reportedly crashed near Digne, Southern France.

Indeed, never something you want to hear. Sadly it seems all 142 passengers and 6 crew have been killed. Aircraft appears to have made a 3,000 foot per minute descent from 38,000ft to around 10,000ft where it collided with a mountain.

There are reports that the aircraft in question had just returned to service following maintenance yesterday in Düsseldorf.

What a desaster. Lots of press people here at DUS Airport where i work. It is hard to understand why the aircraft descended for 10 minutes without any change in course until it collided with the mountains.

Gives me a bad feeling in my stomach as i have my next Germanwings flight in two days.
