Hi all...
In addition to DC3 (20833) C-GZOF, listed here, Air North operated another DC3 (C47A-DK) (c/n 12267) CF-OVW, "Yukon Sourdough", shown on a couple of airliner postcards, one photo taken July 1987 at YXY (Whitehorse, Yukon Terr.)
Its DC4, C-FGNI, was called "Yukon Trader", photographed in an old aviation magazine, photo dated April 1990.
Cheers, Homer
Hi
Could you please update to DB
TC-REC G450 Rec Aviation c/n 4246
N713HC I see this challenger in a new c/s at STN 7.6.16 I believe this is a new reg for this aircraft and not the old challenger with this reg c/n 5308, Do you have any intel on this.
Many Thanks Gary
Hi
CS-TOS TAP Portugal A330-243 in service as of today.
In the db is still as due. Can you, please, correct this?

B737-205 (19408 / 110) reg. LN-SUS was photographed at ARN (Stockholm Arlanda) in Transwede Livery 890221. In the photo the reg. no. looks temporary, as if it might have been taped in place, and the letters "KG" appear on the flap which opens to let down the nose wheel. (Forgive me for not knowing the proper name for this part of the fuselage!)
Homer
Hello all...
HB-AEB was a Jetstream operated by Zimex Aviation (Switzerland) for the United Nations. It is identified here as a J31-3212 (c/n 882). Aviation Safety Network shows it as a J32-3216, written-off at Aden 2 September 1994 (not July). https://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19940902-0
Interesting that nearly 18 years later there's still fighting and shelling there...

Hi Arthur,
you won´t find this one as there is a misspelling on the reg. It is EK73771. Aircraft is in the database: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/EK73771/515414
RDPL-34189 also in the database with correct airline already: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/RDPL-34189/510857

Hi Dennis:
thx for yr quick work! The USAF Beech is tricky to find. See the picture under https://www.dropbox.com/s/7nfso815869f3qk/731214-1.jpg?dl=0
I had to search quite a bit as the leading "7" is not on the fuselage. Maybe this helps.
Best, Arthur
Hi Arthur,
ok then the rego with the Air Force does not have the "N"-prefix.
Cheers,
Dennis
Hi Dennis
I saw C-119G OT-CED at Biggin Hill Battle of Britain display in 9/1967 it also carried reg CP-
43 , as did most of these carry dual reg.
Ron
Hi Dennis,
Please add to the list for Royal American Airways N140RA, Viscount 765D (c/n unknown), shown on one of those annoyingly vague IAWP Historical Aircraft postcards.
Homer
Hi Dennis,
MM52-6003 Fairchild C-119G Italian Air Force msn 10828
MM52-6049 Fairchild C-119G Italian Air Force msn 11117
I missed the dash out of the registration.
Mike
Hi Dennis... and fans of obscure Canadian airlines. Another Air North to add to the list.
CF-CUG was a DC3C (c/n 9891) named "Lady Lou", after a character in the Robert Service poem "The Shooting of Dan McGrew". Photographed in full green and yellow Air North livery at FAI (Fairbanks, Alaska) in July 1996, and shown on an Air Hobby postcard.
Cheers, Homer
Dennis & Arthur, Your King Air is 73-1214 Beech C-12C Huron, USAF "31214" and she is found here: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Search?Registration=73-1214 where she is listed twice. I would recommend combing the listings under the C-12C. Cheers, Jonathan
and here: http://www.airliners.net/photo/usa-air-force/beech-c-12c-huron-%28a200%29/2780726
Oops, your beat me to it, but I still recommend the duplicate listings be combined. JB
Just to ask, not to hurry you, Dennis: will you do my Swiss AF acft?
Hi Dennis...
Tamair (Australia) VH-NEL, shown in your db as a "Merlin-II" is identified in the Feb 1996 issue of World Airline Fleets as a "Fairchild Metro III". Seen painted as a "flying billboard" to promote the annual Country Music Festival at Tamworth in January.
Looks like a Metroliner III to me, but I don't know if that's one and the same as a Merlin-II or a different aircraft. I read the Wiki and still can't figure out how to tell them apart just by looking.
Homer
Hi
Can you, please, add S5-SAD Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global 6000 c/n 9553

Hi Dennis:
again some newbies:
HB-ZRQ Agusta-A 109 SP Da Vinci Swiss Air Rescue
N46U is in the database as C-46A-50-CU (left fleet). Today it is a Piper PA-46-310P Malibu (private owner)

Hi Dennis,
Please add to list for Dan-Air London G-AINL, Bristol 170-31E (c/n 12827), photographed at LGW in 1963. http://www.gatwickaviationsociety.org.uk/images/G-AINL_600.jpg

Also G-BORC, Viscount 724 (c/n 55), photo in a summer 1995 issue of Airliners magazine. Later (?) went to Alidair (Scotland) as seen on airliner postcard listed on eBay.
Cheers, Homer
Hi everyone...
N5858 was a Convair 880 registered to Aero American Corp., who leased it to several companies, including Jonian Airways (Greek airline) in the 1970s, according to an article in Airliners magazine Sept-Oct 1995.
Homer
Greetings...
Still some confusion in my mind about the difference between a "Merlin II" and a "Metro III". XA-RWS of Mexican airline AeroLitoral is described here as a "Merlin II", but according to a photo in Airliners magazine (Jan-Feb 1995) is a Metro III.
Same query for N52EA, registered to Servicio Aereo Leo Lopez SA.
Can anyone tell me how to spot the difference?
Homer
Hi Dennis:
I fully appreciate your fast responses here, and also your need for relaxing. And maybe the Brexit discussion needs some time as well, who knows? Still, allow me to ask:
could you add the following airports - military airbases - in Switzerland:
LSMP Payerne Airbase Payerne, CH (no IATA Code)
LSMM Meiringen Airbase Meiringen, CH (no IATA Code)
No harm meant!!!

Hi Homer,
G-AINL now here: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/G-AINL/848616
The Viscount data with that postcard you mentioned is wrong as the rego of that aircraft is G-BDRC (not G-BORC) and its construction number is 52 (not 55). The aircraft already is in the database also with Alidair: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/G-BDRC/830093
N5858: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/N5858/848631
Cheers,

Hi Homer,
the basis of both aircraft is the same, the main difference should be the length. The Merlin is about 13m while the Metro is 18m. The Metro is a stretched Merlin. There should also be a glitch in the database that all Metros have been named as Merlins. This is a long piece of work getting that corrected.
XA-RWS has been amended: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/N770TR/751007?seo=Metro%20III_Career%20Aviation%20Company%20%28Wilmington%20DE%29
N54EA is a Merlin.

Hi Dennis
A319 VP-BNJ listed as formerly Donavia now Rossiya. Seen yesterday 28Jun at TSE with Donavia titles.
Also B757 LY-FLG listed as SCAT airlines. Also seen yesterday at ALA in Sunday Airlines colours.
Regards
Hi Dougie,
VP-BNJ was transferred to Rossiya on 05.05.16 but is (as other aircraft) still painted in Donavia colours. Aircraft is operated by Rossiya and flights have SU callsigns. So the database is correct here.

Happy Canada Day!
N584PL is identified here as a CV340 operated by Lincoln Airlines, among others. But see https://img.planespotters.net/photo/234000/original/n584pl-lincoln-airlines-convair-cv-580_PlanespottersNet_234161.jpg. Looks like a CV580 to me (now that you've taught me to count the number of blades on the prop!) and is identified there as such.

Hello in our Airports listing we've got Tuscon-Marana Regional wrong. The code is actually AVQ, not AVW.
More on Air North (I thought I made a separate post on this airline, but guess not...)
Air North operated a C47B-1-DL (DC3C) (msn 20833) C-GZOF which was photographed on 21 July 1995 at an unknown location. Photo appeared in World Airline Fleets News #99, December 1995. The name of the aircraft was "Klondike Explorer".
C-GZOF was written off near YVR 19 August 1995, so the July pic may be the last one. The aircraft took off from Vancouver runway 08 but was forced to return due to a no. 2 engine failure (overspeeding prop). The DC-3 struck the embankment of the Fraser River during the turn to runway 30. http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19950819-1

Hi Dennis (and anyone who knows all about Metroliners)
I'm still confused by the difference between "Merlin II" and "Metroliner III".
N364AE is shown here as "Merlin II" owned by Empire Airways between 1993 and 1996.
World Airline Fleets News has a pic of "Fairchild SA227AC Metro III" N364AE, described as one of two ex-Empire aircraft acquired by Conquest Airlines "recently" (sometime in mid to late 1995).
Please add/update/correct as needed.
Homer
Hi Dennis
Can you please add Mi172, UP-MI709

Can you please Add N707CW G-IV 1252 JET WEST LLC seen NHT 2/7/16

Hi Dougie,
added that frame but with virtually no info (no cn, airline unsure). Do you have any additional information?
Cheers,
Dennis
Hi Homer,
N364AE is a Metro, too. Amended.
Cheers,
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
Please add (if not listed elsewhere under another reg. no.) American Airlines DC3 (msn 2202) Flagship Knoxville, reg. no. NC21798. This aircraft is (or was, in 1996) preserved in American Airlines' C.R. Smith Museum.
Homer
Hi Homer,
have that DC-3 added here: https://www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/N21798/848740?seo=DC-3-227B_CR%20Smith%20Aviation%20Museum%20Foundation
Have you been to that museum?
Cheers,
Dennis

Hi Dennis...

Homer
Hi Mike,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
In addition to the Viscounts listed for Merpati Nusantara (of Indonesia) there should also be PK-MVM, shown in a photo in World Airline Fleets News in early 1988. There's no other information as to type number.
Homer
Hi again...
I know it's not our practice to record temporary registration numbers, but... The March 1988 issue of World Airline Fleets News has a cover photo of an A320 (no further description) with British Caledonian titles and livery -- the gold lion on blue fin, blue and yellow cheatlines -- numbered F-WWDA on delivery, probably Decemb er 1987. Our list shows no B757 for British Caledonian. Is it possible it's listed as just "Caledonian"?
Homer
Hi Dennis et al.
In January 1988 World Airline Fleets News (a publication of Aviation Data Centre, who did a lot of good airliner postcards) ran a photo of DHC6 (no msn) Twin Otter N915SA, operated by Resort Commuter Airlines for TW Express.
Homer
Here's No. 100!
Please add to Wagair - DC3 (no msn) C-FTFV shown flying over Hugh Sound, British Columbia, 2 September 1987, in a photo in the September 1987 issue of World Airline Fleets News.
Cheers, Homer
