Sir Richard Branson has announced Virgin Galactic is to co-operate with Boom, a new startup which is developing a new 55 seat supersonic aircraft. The aircraft will be capable of flying London-New York in just 3.5 hours, and they hope it will enter service in 2023. Virgin has committed to buying the first 10 aircraft they produce.

Is this the return of supersonic travel? I miss the sight of Concorde, and really wish I could have flown on it. Will this plane ever get off the ground?
