Adding multiple reg numbers but not showing ??

Hi all

I have just started my very long task of adding all my reg numbers from 1980 onwards.

Upon adding various batches i found that when entered they did not show up. And i had to add the details manually. Fine i thought as these were all old BA Viscount and VC10 reg numbers. So assumed they were not in the data base.

But upon looking at the database again many of these reg numbers are already there. But it did not link it to my original entry. And as such has not now shown that i have seen the aircraft. [dark aircraft symbol]

The aircraft are however in MY sighting though , under the same reg number.

Am i doing something wrong. As i cannot understand why its not matching what i'm adding to what is already in the database.

Now i have used the same adding process with newer aircraft , and had no problems what so ever.

Cheers Simon

Simon.

The database contains the details of aircraft that are current & 'historic'. Only aircraft currently 'active' will interact with your inputs - everything else has to be inputted manually. It may seem tedious but it's all good fun!

It is also necessary to check that the details given for a current registration match your sighting; eg did you see N27015 as Continental or United? The database will offer this registration as United, so if your original observation was during Continental days you will have to edit it as such.

Have fun (if you've got the time).

That's a pity. i hoped all would show up. Oh well. Back to the tapping away. BAC-1-11's and Trident 2's just added :-)

The "Add multiple sightings" only works with currently active registrations. If it is an older registration, it will report it as not found. You will then be asked to add this manually, after which it will show in your records, but wont be tied back to the original record.

You may be better going into the fleet listing for an airline, then clicking the seen/not seen icon to add all the historic aircraft you have seen, and adding them that way. They will then be tied back.
