Hi All,
If any of you went to the RAF Halton Open Day on 28.06.75 all the aircraft from my log have now been added to the DB.
Next up from me is RAF Alconbury's Open House on the same day, after I play catch up with your requests.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Steve,
Sorry for my mistake. I did put it in but as NF.11-5 (more used to the Spanish format rather than the stupid French numbering system!).
It's now been corrected and the two Coatians added for you.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Paul,
All added for you sir!
Take Care, Brian
Hi Erdni,
You do like to challenge me!
Your ITAF C-130H is MM61989
after lots of searching through all my records, I was unable to find an MB-339 coded '61-82.' (I found every other code than that one). However, I found a photo online of it as MM54543 (it was an A model before being mod to a PAN for the Frecce Tricolori). It was in the 'old' colour scheme so I'm pretty sure this was your machine.
The AB.412 'CC-03' is MM81189
The A.109 'GF-124' is MM81172.
They've all been added for you together with the rest of your list (but not the Jordanian F-16's or I'll be unable to help anyone else, lol !)
Take care, Brian
Hi Alfred,
Your latest list of 15 June has been added.
Kind regards, Brian
Hello Brian,
thanks for the latest add. Two things, first 25+52 F-104 is a double entry. 2nd could you check the IATA code für RAF Marham. EGYM shows the correct location on the map, but MRH Shows an airfield down under. Which is I think not the place you saw Victors......lol. Greetings from Germany, stay safe!
Hi Alfred,
Sorry for the duplication on 25+52. The system sometimes seems to enter double lines when it gets busy (and probably forgets where it is!).
Thanks also for the Marham code. It always used to be IATA code MRH and ICAO code EGYM (being an ex airline man I always use IATA codes where I can), but it seems they've changed it now to KNF and given MRH to somewhere warmer!
Kind regards, Brian

Hi CSI SOUTHHAMPTON, thanks a lot as usual for the quick clearance of the crime scene finding all the evidence I asked for with almost 120% proof.
The rework brought to light this time:
Japanese Coast Guard:
JA687A EC225LP 2663
JA688A EC225LP 2670
JCAB Flight Inspection:
JA6784 Bell 412EP 36115
The only challenge in here for you is to decide if you feel responsible for number 3, even though the operators name includes the bad c-word CIVIL, or not.Their fleet is included in Air Britains MTQR, so I try.
If your thumbs are down you got my understanding. I'll ask Dennis in the year 2525,( if mankind is still alive). It's just that we are about to deal with letter K, which almost means half-time in the alphabet while Dennis is about to finish year 3 out of almost 40 in airliners. Didn't bother him with biz jets yet. Neither did I with Pipers,Beechcrafts etc. Helicopters are beautiful but last in line. Don't tell him! This conversation is strictly between us two! He's doing a great job. No need to disturb him by any means.
Enough stupid messing around:
Kazakhstan Air Force:
18 red An-12BK 6344609
01 red An-24B 99902104
UN-87816 Yak-40 9230724 (or Ministry of Defence)
UN-87912 Yak-40K 9732054 (or Berkut)
Korean People's Army Air Force:
P-914 IL-76MD 1003404146
What follows is not a challenge, it's an insolence and I really don't expect you to even look at it:
Place: ALA
Date: 08/06/2001-10/06/2001
Construction numbers: Are you kidding me?
14 red Tupolev 134 (or variant)
1 red An-24 or An-26 (too distant)
7 red An-24 or An-26 (too distant)
84 red An-24 or An-26 (too distant)
Good luck, Sherlock! Don't waste any time! Let's rather get to the not very promising letter 'L'.
Thanks in advance.
Good afternoon Brian,

Hi All,
If any of you were at Alconbury Open House on 28-June-1975 I've just finished adding all the a/c from my log (all those Phabulous Phantoms!).
Next up will be RAF Binbrook show from July '75 once I play catch-up with your requests.
Kind regards, Brian
Good evening Brian
A quick question please...
If acft have changed from Mil - Civil reg or Civil - Mil reg who should I send requests to, your good self or Dennis?
Kind regards, a fellow Brian
Hi Brian,
The rule of thumb is if it currently has (or you saw it as) a mil reg - then it's to me, if it's a civil reg - then it's to Dennis. I don't mind putting in ex Mil a/c if they're now civil as I know Dennis is always busy. I've just finished some old Warbirds for Erdni that are now flying with civil reg's.
Just let me have the details and I'll get around to it asap.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Erdni,
I've put your latest list into the DB. The Yak-40K was with Berkut Air, not the AF.
However, it looks like I failed the test this time. I found records on the An-26s 01 red; 07 red; 84 red (not all c/n known), but the Tu-134 has beaten me!! I can't find any ref to a 14 red with anybody (I've looked at the entire production list and cannot find one being seen as such - or even painted as such (you know how some stored ones now have 'fake' reg's!). There is a 14 red already in our DB (put in 2016 by someone I don't know) but you'll see from the record it has colours & codes all over the place so I wouldn't trust it!
I'm so sorry to let you down. I'm now going off to log my 300 Cessna 150's with the Lesotho Air Force before you take up all my time with your letter 'L' !!
Kindest regards, Brian
HI Paul,
All entered for you. Look forward to seeing the photo's!
Kind regards, Brian
Well done Brian,
Your efforts on the letter K in all honor, but with the preparation of the L-list you've outdone yourself. Each and every of my military sightings of countries beginning with L (including Liliput and La La Land) is already in the DB. You've earned yourself some rest. Someday, but not right now.

Hi All,
If anyone was at Binbrook Open House to see all those lovely loud Lightnings on 19th July 1975, all aircraft from my log have now been added to the database.
Next up from me will be Middle Wallop Air Show the same month - once I've caught up with your requests.
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks a lot Brian for your amazing job.
Next for me
Slovak Air Force
Spanish Air Foce
Danish Air Force
Swiss Air Force
And some US of course
Have a nice week !
Hi Erdni,
You certainly make me work for my sins! I had no idea the Mexican Navy had completely re-regd all their a/c so I've had to do double the work! Also all the Moroccan Herks have changed (again) so I've re-worked those that were in the DB (I'll get around to the others in the future).
I really hope you don't have a whole bunch of Namibian Air Force MiGs next?!!
Take care, Brian
PS: I forgot to mention that ANX-1190 is c/n FL-832; c/n FL-956 is ANX-1193 (it was meant to be AMP-190 but went to AMP-193 instead, before being re-regd). Both are in the DB.

Hi Paul,
Your latest list has been added. Awaiting the photo's!
Kindest regards, Brian
Hi Alfred,
Your latest request has been completed. Shame I never got to see any HEER Alouettes!
Take care. Regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
All added for you.
The Cub threw me somewhat as 43-30374 is c/n 11665 which went to the Czech AF in the 40's. A couple of records refer to G-AISX as being ex 44-80198 with c/n 12494, which is completely wrong! Anyway, got there in the end. After some digging it was 43-30372 (hence flying marked as '330372' nowadays) and the 'gap' you found was time spent overseas.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Steve T,
Welcome to the dark side! I've been 'spotting' since 1971 but have only been editing the Mil a/c in the DB for almost a year. Still loads to do (I've gone back to my own logs to put everything in that's missing and have thousands to add as I'm still in 1975!) so if you need some adding don't be afraid to ask.
Kind regards, Brian
Hello Brian, Thanks for the last addition, I'm starting to running low in new addition. But I still have some ammo for you.

Hi Brian
Another puzzle while trying to research a sighting from 20 years ago....
British Aircraft Corporation BAC 167 Strikemaster Mk87
This led to confusing photos regarding reg OJ4. Planelogger has a Mk 83 c/n 175 written-off in 1989, there are photos on web taken after this. G-INFO has a Mk 87 (history below) and https://www.airport-data.com follows on with OJ4 and TU-VRA. Given OJ4 was at Waddington in 2001 I have to assume it was the Mk 87 (possibly painted in BDF colours without serving?) which then went to Malta for re-reg to TU-VRA.
Are you to sort/identify the correct c/n at Waddington in 2001?
British Aircraft Corporation BAC 167 Strikemaster Mk87
c/n EEP/JP-2872
built 1970
G-AYHR BAC 22 Jul 1970
G-AYHR Global Aviation Ltd 29 Apr 1977
G-AYHR Gone Flying Ltd 27 Nov 1977
G-UNNY Gone Flying Ltd 19 Mar 1998
G-UNNY Transair UK Ltd 24 Mar 2000
G-UNNY Strikemaster Films Ltd 07 Feb 2003 - G-INFO has it exported to Ivory Coast.
????OJ-4 Botswana Defence Force – Ex-Kuwaiti Mk.83s and Kenyan Mk.87s were briefly used by the Botswana Defence Force Air Wing????
TU-VRA aircraft arrived in Malta Feb 2003 for re-reg to TU-VRA and delivery to Cote D’Ivoire Air Force (photos in Malta Feb/Mar 2003) - aircraft WFU in 2003 unserviceable.
Confusion as to did both the Mk 83 and Mk 87 serve with Botswana (using OJ4) or did the Mk 87 get painted without serving.
Hope you are able to shed some light on this.
Kindest regards
Brian

Hi Everyone,
No..I haven't run off and deserted you all! I've had a manic 10 days working with my Funeral Director friend and no time at all for aeroplanes. It's a little easier this coming week so I'll stop prattling and get on with your requests.....
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Erdni,
The Dutch Police helicopters have now been added to the DB completing your list of 26 June. Sorry for the delay...hope you didn't get too bored?!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
Your Alpha Jets have been added - sorry for the delay.
I hate the French mil system with a passion. It would be so much easier to keep the one callsign with the aircraft at all times (ie: F-TELH) and then just change the code to suit the unit (ie: 314-LH, 8-LH etc. That way we'd always know the ID of the a/c from the last two of the code and the unit from the first digits...so simple....but oh no...this is the French, lol !!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
Your An-26/M-28's have been added.
There's not much info on the old 'eastern bloc' forces I find in general. I always try to put dates in my own notes to help out as some of the viewings/reports are pretty scant.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
The Lancaster has now been added. Not much more info held in my own records I'm afraid.

Hi Brian,
The B-17 has been added (last one tonight). I'll get around to your others in the next day or two.

Glad to hear that everything is o.k. although I hoped this time the reason for taking a break would be wine, women and whatever else that pleases you and not just too much work again.

Your SBAC '76 log has been updated.
One point to note is the MB-326K was MM54390/I-IVAO.
I'm still working through my 1975 personal log (between everyone's updates) so it'll be a few more weeks until I start on 1976 but hope to put in the complete show report from my visit on 09.09.76. Will let you know.

Hi John,
Hope you're keeping safe out there?
Your C-130H has now been added for you. Sorry for the delay.

Hi Brian,
The Strikemaster is definitely a Mk.87 (ex G-AYHR etc.). I was at the show too and was fortunate to get to go around it with a toothcomb.
The Mk.83 (OJ4) was supposedly w/o 12.12.89. so it would eliminate the other poss frame anyway.
The Mk.87 has been added to the DB.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
I'm back with new additions.

Hi Paul,
Your latest work for me has been completed. Please don't work too hard on finding me reg's as I still have my own logging to do and I'm still in 1975, lol !!
One point is the Bulgarian Falcon. The reg is LZ-OOI (Oscar Oscar India) not LZ-001 (zero zero one).
Kindest regards, Brian
Hi Alfred,
Thank you so much for all the work!
Your list has almost been completed (just a couple of F-104's to added and I'll finish them in the morning) so at least you have something to do this weekend.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Alfred,
Remaining F-104's now added for you.

Hi Erdni,
You don't have to apologise for being late...just giving me all this work, lol !
Your second part of 'P' has been added. I can't wait to enter all your Qatari helicopters!!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
Many thanks for my additions over the last week. When looking to add my sighting of XP567 I noticed there were two entries. One is more complete than the other so maybe a double entry in error? Any chance of a tidy up?
Kind regards
Brian
Hi Steve T,
Another interesting list - which has all been added for you.
Kind regards, Brian
HI Brian,
It appears that XP567 was already in the database before I added the new (complete) record. My fault for not checking first before I added it!
All cleared up now.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian
I don't know whether this should be civil or Military, but Harvard recorded as LN-BNM had it's registration cancelled 29-1-73 (After which a Twin otter took this reg) Now the afore mentioned Harvard was preserved as a static Exhibit with the Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend and carried markings 93584/LTA-584 & 12392/TA-392. When this museum closed it went to RAF Museum who marked it up as FE903.

Hi Brian,
Slightly bigger list today for you from the Museum at Hermeskeil. Sadly many aircraft don't carry their registrations which makes a change from some museums applying fake ones just for that sake of it. Fortunately the internet is our friend when it comes to this so I've managed to ID most although there are a couple of challenges in there for you. Good luck and as always no rush at all.

There are 3 F-84’s here but for some reason there seems to be no clear way online of IDing the c/n’s unless the USA type serial actually is the c/n.
EA-241 Republic RF-84F Thunderflash c/n is listed as 52-7663 so possibly this is an ex USAF reg. Can’t find any other c/n listed even under 52-7663.
BF-105 F 84 F Thunderstreak c/n is listed as 52-6778 so possibly this is an ex USAF reg. Can’t find any other c/n listed even under 52-6778.
DE-524 Republic F-84 Thunderjet c/n unknown, as with the other F-84’s there is a USA type number attached online which is 51-1702.
In addition to the F-84 I have two more for you to test your skills on…..
63944 North American F-100F Super Sabre list online as being the actual 56-3944 which has c/n 243-220 against it or possibly 56-4014 marked as 63944. Their own website while listing c/n on some aircraft doesn’t have one for this.
There is what is listed as a Focke-Hartz FoHa 1 which appears to be a heligyroautocopter kind of arrangement. Their website list it with a c/n of 080 but no registration. Some online sources seem to list 080 as the serial
Thanks again for the hard work and I'll get to work on my Sinsheim and Speyer lists soon!!
Steve
