Hi All,

All USMC & USN F-35B/C's have now been added to the DB up to LRIP/Lot 12 (FY'18), together with the RAF/RN & Italian Navy B's for the same period.

I have also entered all USAF & FMS F-35A's up to LRIP/Lot 8 and will continue to add the rest once I've caught up with your requests from the end of the last list (5).

I have a few gaps on f/f & d/d dates so if anyone can fill in the blanks please drop me a line..

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Steve (Hitman),

Your small list from the end of update (5) has been added. Sorry for the slight delay.

The C-17A is already in the DB as SAC 01 (02, 03 etc) under NATO, not Hungarian AF (it's just based at Papa AB).

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Steve (Hitman),

Your list of the Hermeskeil museum (from the end of updates (5) has finally been completed with a couple of notes for you:

  1. The Polish AF Su-7 has been entered as '009' due to the 3-digit requirement.
  2. Mirage IIIR '304' is actually 310 painted falsely.
  3. Scout AH.1 XW799 is actually XR633 (with parts from '799).
  4. RF-84F 'EA+241' is actually ex EB+241 (52-7377) c/n reported as 391 but not confirmed. 52-7663 is a T-34A and RF-84F 53-7663 was b/up at Tucson in '76 I think.
  5. F-84F BF+105 is ex 52-6778 as you said (no c/n known)
  6. F-84F 'DE+524' - can't find any ref to this at Hermeskeil. The 'other' F-84F is ex 51-1702 unmarked (but DD+371 faintly visible) allowing us to confirm it as ex DD+380 (no c/n known). It was originally DE+254 so maybe that's where "DE+524" came from?
  7. F-100F '63944' is actually ex FAF 64014 (56-4014) painted falsely.

Kind regards, Brian

Brian, you're a genius. I always knew you would be able to get to the bottom of it. Just pity that so many museums are so fond of fake registrations or in some case no registration at all.

Hi Brian

Thanks for your warm words after a couple of cold beers in MRS. It would be more than unfair to leave the DB believing F-ZBPM would be stored in FNI because I saw it fly over MPL on 19/07/2020 with two eyes you do not trust without checking if the Securite Civile bought new machinery to register it the same.

Thanks for being so conscientous,

Erdni

Hi Brian,

One quick follow on from the Hermeskeil list you kindly added. I mentioned on my list a Focke-Hartz FoHa 1 but you made no mention of it when confirmed the other queries I had put forward. I think it may be already on the DD as if you click on the fleet list for FLUGAUSSTELLUNG L & P JUNIOR the very last item on the list is a Focke-Hartz FoHa 1. When I try to click on it the system tells me it is loading the data but it doesn't actually load up. I have tried searching the DB using 080 which may just be the c/n but it doesn't find anything. Any idea how I can load the item up, i.e. what registration it is listed under?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Brian,

I've entered the Tiger Moth but the info is very sketchy. The original PDF document of the paperwork submitted by Mr Bisshopp to the CAA in 1985 quoted the c/n as 86149, but the digital versions show it as 86150. I have entered it as the latter as I believe this to be correct.

It was allocated EM967 and later RAFMC 6940M but I can find no service details or listings whatsoever online, and believe it or not, this was even before I started spotting, so my records are non-existent!!

I've put in what I can find, like you, but it's not much.

Kind regards, Brian

I don't believe you. I think you've had a lot more than just 'a couple of beers' and are dreaming of Securite Civile helicopters flying, ha ha !

Hi Steve (Hitman),

Sorry my mistake for not putting this in my notes to you.

Despite finding several photo's of the FoHa 1 online, I'm unable to find a s/n for it, so I've entered it as 'no reg' (you'll see 6 or so like this) but with a c/n of 080 as stated on their website (as you said). At least you can record your sighting that way.

Not sure why the record didn't come up when you entered via the fleet list for the museum. I'll double check to make sure I've not left anything out of the record.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi All,

I'm now up-to-date with all your requests (until Erdni has a few more pints and dreams of more helicopters!!).

I face a very busy week ahead, workwise, so just a heads up to let you know I won't get much time for DB work probably before next weekend (either side of the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone!!)

Keep sending your requests and I'll get to them as quick as possible.

Stay safe!

Sorry Brian for the huge list but normally, this museum is done. Except the last 5 planes, I have all on picture but most of them are crappy because planes are not really well exposed (check on maps if you are curious)

Cheers Paul

Hi Brian,

Slightly bigger list than the last one this time from Sinsheim. As always it's a case of whenever you have the time.

20+27 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23ML C/N 0390324018

22+33 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21SPS C/N 94A5202

83+17 Vertol H-21C Shawnee C/N WG17

28+27 Aero L-39ZO Albatros C/N 232301

25+20 Sukhoi Su-22M-4 C/N 26307

J-1798 De Havilland DH-112 Venom FB.54 C/N 96

94+18 Mil Mi-8T Hip C/N 10503

10 Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-3 C/N unknown

4V+UH Junkers Ju-88A C/N 1379

1006 PZL-Mielec Lim-2 (MiG-15bis) C/N 1B01006

5J+GN CASA-2.111B c/n 005

1301643 Junkers Ju-87B Stuka C/N unknown

PT+TP Ikarus Kurir DM-6R C/N 50127

22+49 Lockheed F-104G Starfighter C/N 683-7129

C-501 EKW C-3605 C/N 281

J-1628 De Havilland DH-112 Venom FB.54 C/N 838

471/15 Fokker E.III Eindecker replica c/n unknown

C4K-170 Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchon C/N 228 Displayed as 4 in Luftwaffe markings

FT454 North American AT-16 Harvard IIB C/N 14-555

32+64 Fiat G-91R/3 C/N D534

E3349 Avro 504K Replica C/N RPL.6832

J-1603 De Havilland DH-112 Venom FB.50 C/N 813

99+36 English Electric Canberra B.2 C/N R3/EA3/6644

0833 Ilyushin Il-14P C/N 14600833

72+97 Bell UH-1D Iroquois C/N 8417

And as is often the case there are one or two grey areas I’m hoping you can clarify/confirm.

JD+397 Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star C/N 580-1678 but it is marked as FT-15 of the Belgium Air Force. There is an FT-15 but I’m pretty sure this one isn’t it and that it is JD+397.

DE623 De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth II C/N 82043. There is already a Tiger Moth that used to be DE623 on the DB but the one on the DB seems to still be active using a UK civil registration. It seems this one used to be D-EDON.

EB+302 Republic RF-84F Thunderflash C/N unknown, As with the Hermeskeil F-84’s there is a US style reg of 51-1862

RED 03 Antonov An-2T but I believe the real RED 03 is in a different museum and the one here is actually HA-ANB C/N 16847305.

Finally I’m not really sure if this is civil or military but as you’re good with these sorts of things so here goes

Hubner Eindecker c/n 4 It is in the entrance hall and was apparently built in 1912 however there are no markings at all (other than the designers name) and I can find no reference online to any registration.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Hi Alfred,

Your list from 26 July has been completed. Sorry for the error on the Greek TA-7H. I put it in as USN in error (it was only an FMS and never with the USN - but my brain always thinks of those numbers as USN!!) Sorry.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Erdni,

This is going to cost you BIG time !!

Your small list has been added and the two missing Hueys are 71+35 and 71+93. Also the F-104 at Memmingen is actually 24+17 painted as "23+34" to mark '23' yrs of F-104 Ops by JbG '34' .

Now let's move on to Qatari 'choppers' please (ha ha !)

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Greg,

Great NEAM list thanks! Looks a really interesting museum so will add this to my next USA East Coast visit (whenever that may be!)

I've entered all your list but still have a couple more items to add that weren't on it and will do this on Tuesday when I next have some time.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Brian,

The museum is well worth the visit. The B-25 is actually restored and on display. Sadly most of the pictures I took don't show complete planes due to how they are displayed. Also you have the FM-2 under New Enland rather than New England.

Again thanks, Greg

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the update on the B-25H. Now amended to 'Preserved' rather than 'stored' - also the typo for the FM-2 now corrected.

Not sure if you managed to get into the restoration hangar but have added a couple more frames that were in there in 2016 for completeness. I've also added a couple of the frames stored behind the hangar in the woods (not accessible to the public unfortunately).

Kindest regards, Brian

Hi Paul,

Your Orange museum list has been completed. I've seen lots of photos on the web and, as you say, not really ideal for decent shots as far too close together.

Some of the a/c have been entered as '00x' due to the 3-digit requirement with a note for the correct s/n and the Jag E has been entered as E07.

Take care,

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Steve (Hitman),

Your Sinsheim museum list has now been added with a couple of notes:

  1. The Fw-190 is in as '010' due to the 3 digit requirement (although I'm sure this is a fake reg).
  2. The Eindecker E.III is in as '417' with a note (the system doesn't like '/')
  3. The T-33A is indeed JD+397 painted up as 'FT-15'
  4. The DH-82 is indeed D-EDON painted up as 'DE623'
  5. AN-2T again you're correct as it's HA-ANB painted up as '03-Red'
  6. The Hubner Eindecker is his 4th machine and is listed as a Hubner Eindecker IV with a c/n of 1. it doesn't carry a reg (and, like you, I'm unable to find reference to one anywhere) so it's in the DB as 'NO REG' so at least you can log it.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Erdni,

Part 2 of your Russian list has been completed (mostly) with a couple of notes:

  1. The Open Skies An-30 is reported as '04' dark blue (even though I have it listed as Black in my own log when I saw it at RIAT). I have put it in as 04 black with a note.
  2. I can find no reference to An-12 RA-76491 having served with the Ministry of Defence (or any other Government agency).
  3. I have found 2 of your 3 MI-8's at Krasnoyarsk. 303 Red & 305 Red are both ex MChS and stored. I can find nothing on '201' though - sorry!

I have tried to 'tidy up' the Russian DB as best I can on the Military/Government fleets.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Brian

Thank you very much. If we ever meet in real life by chance the drinks are on me. Never thought we get this far so early. We could already start right here and now with the S-List if I the rework during the last week of my holidays had not brought the following to sunlight:

Cameroon Air Force:

TJX-CD C-130H 4752

TJX-CE C-130H 4933

Czech Air Force:

0834 Mi-8P 10894

4139 Mi-4 04139 Vyskow Air Museum

Czech Police:

B-2745 Mi-2 5310345097 Vyskow Air Museum

Vyskow Air Museum:

OK-FXE Mi-8 10546 ex 93+17 German Air Force (to make you feel responsible)

Luxembourg Navy? (again) :

LX-MIK Aero L-39C 432936 ex RA-1904K

Rossiya:

RA-25540 Mi-8MTV1 96694

MCHS from the last list

RA-87243 Yak-40 9531143 my sighting in full cs UNKM 04/06/2001

Russian Air Force from the last list

31 red Tu-134Sh 03551050 must be corrected since your results were unpleasing and my research took place years ago. I now found a picture taken by one of my swiss co-travellers from the very date of my sighting on airliners.net leading me to the correct cn:

31 red Tu-134Sh 64450 later RF-66090 (2013) and RF-65733 (2014)

We go for Saudi Hot Air Balloons when we are through this

Thanks in advance,

Erdni

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the latest entry, couple of thinkgs just to make you aware of as you might want to correct them,

Both the Sabre 23042 and the G-91 31+47 have double entries on the DB for each identity/owner.

Also the F-4 63-7423 has just te as the owner rather than Technik Museum Speyer.

Thanks again for the update and corrections, enjoy the race.

Hi Erdni,

I'll be over at the weekend if you're buying the beers (ha ha!)

You now have the complete fleet of the Luxembourg Navy in the DB, together with the Russian AF Tu-134 that you messed up !!

I look forward to seeing your list of Saudi AF Hot Air Balloons...I still have a couple to tie up that were on a squadron exchange visit when I lived in Turkey so hopefully I can check your codes!

Take care buddy!

Sorry about the duplicates at Speyer. Sometimes my system does that if it loses connection with the server, and I don't spot it quickly enough.

The typo on the F-4 was entirely my fault but they're all sorted now.

Hi Brian,

I knew from the start, the guy I spent my money on was fooling me. I tried to lay some traps, but couldn't convict him. His knowledge about aviation was overwhelming but not half as much as the capacity of his livers. Must have been Erazkiel or Lin104 although he looked like a hitman. Whoever it was, it was a great performance that earned every single sip of booze he could press out of my wallet.

Good news is, there will be some left, when you finally make it yourself.

Bad news is I had a few too much myself and lost all my inhibitions to give you an S-List, that you can call a real sPAIN in the ass, even though it's not complete at all.

Hi All,

Before I make a start on Erdni's RSAF hot air balloons I just thought I'd let you know that all the F-35 Lightning II's are now in the DB up to & including FY'18 for all Air Arms (USAF, USN, USMC, RAF/RN, RAAF, RNeAF, RNoAF, ItAF, It Navy; RoKAF; JASDF, IDFAF, RDAF & the cancelled THK (Turks') - think that's them all for now).

I'll update the ones currently on order as I notice they come into service.

It's taken me over two weeks to enter them...so you'd better start logging them, lol !!

Kind regards, Brian

Covid 19 will pass, FlyBe will fly again under a different name (Jersey European) and You will have a drink or twenty on my expenses..

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know I've now finished adding all F-22A (& 2 YF-22) Raptors into the DB for you.

I'll keep you posted on the next type to be added once I've played catch-up with your own additions.

Kind regards, Brian

HI All,

I told a little lie...I've just updated the USAF/JASDF KC-46A Pegasus fleet & will start on your outstanding lists tomorrow.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Erdni,

I am glad we're moving fast through your log. Next year is going to be really busy for me so I won't have as much time to update. Unfortunately I'm still working through my log (I'm only in 1975 as far as this system goes) and my wife thinks I'll be dead before I get to finish it (maybe she's going to kill me for being on the laptop so much!!)

I don't know which C.295 uses hex code 345156. It looks like a test flight box as it is often logged using CASA XXX c/s (I've seen 971, 985, 115 recorded).

My mistake about the PAF DC-3...I must have been dreaming of wrong numbers!

However, the Tiger II at Dubendorf is really J-3096....I painted it "J-3013" just before your visit to fool you, ha ha !!

Take care, Brian

Hi Alfred,

Your latest list has now been added.

I'll definitely come over once the travel restrictions have been lifted and things are virtually 'back to normal'. I'm sure between the 3 of us - you, me and Erdni - we can make his boss very proud of his expenses, ha ha !!

Can you kindly do me huge favour and delete your sighting of E-3 73-1674 under the USAF line and put it into the Boeing line? It never served with the USAF (was always a Boeing test bed) and I need to delete that line as someone put it in in error.

Many thanks for your help, Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks again for being so fast. Haven't even finished the rework of the other list. Couldn't find the Slovakian Mi-8 because of your reregistration date in 2014. Found it eventually in BTS a year later still being B-1786 and then found photo proof on airliners.net. Going through all my BTS visits I found others and somehow got my eyes on a visit to FASK in 2007. Blame it on your dreaming of wrong dates that we can't start with the mighty Taiwan and Thailand lists right now.

South African Police:

ZS-HUZ Bo105 S-767

South African Air Force:

309 SA-321L 129 preserved FASK

6498 Lockheed 237 Ventura V 237-6290 preserved FASK

ZS-ATL Lockheed 18 08 Lodestar 18-2085 preserved FASK

This aircraft was named "Jan van Riebeeck" during its service with South African Airways. General Smuts often used this Lodestar as an executive transport aircraft. After WWII, successive Ministers of Transport used the aircraft in the same role. Comair bought the Lodestar from SAA in 1954 and used it up to November 1968. The aircraft is now finished in a representative camouflage colour scheme carried by SAAF Lodestars during WWII. Thanks to IPMS for the info. (comment on airliners.net)

337 C-160Z Z4 preserved FASK

1721 Avro 716 Shackleton MR3 1531 preserved FASK

Registration: 6120 Construction Number: 137-4646 Model Lockheed Ventura II Operator: South African Air Force Museum Airport: Swartkop (FASK), South Africa (poor condition 2007)

B-2909 Mi-2 536009019 (2003) transferred 01/01/1993 from

Czechoslovakian Police dd 10/03/1979

B-8532 Mi-8PS 10832 (2012) (2015)

B-2744 Mi-2 5310344097 (2015) brackets are the years of my sightings

Nice to hear that you hope for a busy next year since it implies that we get rid of corona soon. Nice to hear that you plan to come over, but to be on the safe side you need to explain to your wife that she can only legally inherit your drinks as long as you didn't become the victim of a capital crime.

Better come alive and bring her with you. I'll introduce her to some White Russians and none of them will be people.( I might be willing to check if she's Alfred in disguise)

I better finish the rework of the second last list now, before you finish this one.

Cheers, Erdni

Hi Steve T,

Your latest list has been added. Not a lot of info on the Science Museum oldies unfortunately. Another Museum I went to years ago and lost my log!!

Glad you're now into 1987...11 years ahead of me at the moment!!

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Erdni,

I've changed the date on B-1786 to a year later (I've seen it quoted as OM- in 2014 in a couple of places) but also photos of B-1786 in 2014 also.

The latest list has been added for you.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over the Lodestar. Some sites say it is the same machine (18-2026) as ZS-ASN with SAA at Rand, some say it is ZS-ATL ex Comair. I've put it in as a 'new' record under ZS-ATL as I notice you already logged ZS-ASN at QRA.

Have a good weekend.

Kind regards, Brian

Good Evening Brian,

Here are some planes to create.

  1. 160 (654-IN) - Nordatlas, French AirForce, preserved in Vannes (France)
  2. N339DH - L39C, Redstar Airshows INC, flying for the Patriot Team.
  3. N524NA - OV-10A Bronco, Nasa Langley Research Center
  4. ZH847 - AW101-Merlin, Royal Navy. It already exist in the DB but record "active" for AgustaWestland but I spotted it last year during the Tiger Meet and is flying for the Navy. I'm quite confused. I think it's wrong in the DB.

Cheers. Paul

Hi All,

If any you were lucky enough to catch the A-29B's routing through KEF/PIK/NCE over the weekend on delivery to the Afghan AF (they came over me near SOU but covered in cloud!) they're now all in the database.

Now to play catch-up with your tons of requests.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Geoff,

Having felt like I've spent all day entering the entire fleet of RAF Lightnings, I've come to the conclusion you either worked with them or are some kind of fanatic (lol !). Some lovely machines that unfortunately met their demise before I was mobile enough to get around the country to see them...but I did manage one or two (including the RSAF one at CVT);

I'll get around to your other lists asap.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Brian,

At Coltishall 1968 and Binbrook 1977-1978, Lightnings everywhere!

XM144 was a F.1 not F.1A - apologies.

Geoff

Hi Erdni,

I'm not sure about Workaholic...but after those horrible Thai AF numbers I may become an Alcoholic. I hate their numbering system even more than the FrAF (that's saying something!) especially as our DB doesn't like the '/' in their serial numbers (those that you listed are just codes). You can access them by code to make it easier for everyone instead of trying to guess that L8-2/23 coded 60102 is in the DB as L8-2-23 !!

I forgot to mention the 2 L/J 60XR are both civil and owned by a construction company (not Ministry of Health).

Take care buddy.

Regards, Brian

Hi Geoff,

I guessed as much !

Your F-104 list has been added and XM144 corrected. Will get to work on the remaining Lightnings ASAP.

Kind regards, Brian

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the delay...been busy updating list requests any only just seen your question.

I'm not aware of any issues with the site (you should really speak to Gavin, the webmaster, about general site issues). I was working on it all weekend and had no problems.

I've had that issue with another site I use regularly. I saved it in my favourites folder and used to access it from there until I got the same message as you did. I then went into Google (other browsers are available!) and got onto it first time from there, so deleted my old saved site and saved the new one and have had no probs since !

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Brian
