Just to give you a heads up....I'll not be working on updates/requests past 18th December 2020 for 3 weeks (to give me a break & a chance to do some of my own logging over a few spare days at Xmas).

If you post your requests by 16th December (as long as they're not huge - to give everyone a chance) I'll have them finished by the end of that week.

Normal service will then be resumed from Monday 11th January 2021.

Very kind of you. Tell you what: Until 18th of December it's less than a Dak a Day. I know Junkie behaviour from my time as a professional drug dealer before becoming a Russian spy.Take your time. Don't overdose. Concentrate on others more than usual,especially Geoff. Working on Dakota Lists can be pure fun and support your consciousness expansion if you don't take it to extremes..

I think I asked for every airliner, military reg and police aircraft plus a lot of choppers or smaller planes with a military history 2006-2020 already.(95%) I'm not going to search faster than I do for Dennis to finish with checking everything twice. The Talons I found by chance adding two Dakotas the day in 1999 all of them turned into El Paso. I'll go on with Dakotas for the next and you just deal with them, when you feel like.

I used to print off the requests, stack them in order, then shred them once I'd entered them but in an effort to reduce paper I now copy them across to notepad and work from there. I promise to pay more attention next time!

You'll be pleased to know the C-130H is Cameroon AF, not Moroccan, and of course the Etendards are FN not FAF;

The C-12 is in the DB as 84-00165 as I've tried to standardise on US Army serials all being 5 digits after the FY.

Thought of You when I took part in a wedding car parade this noon with my 1987 VW Passat close to its 420000 km. Not exactly comparable with a Dak, but reliable as well. Just came home in lack of a party in a non political meaning (Non alcoholical as well) and what do I find? Work to be done. First two I found in BWU 2002 doing the rework.

I remember that the main reason to go to Columbia in 1996 was to follow the last remaining flying Caravelles but now I realize how great it was for Daks. Luckily the DB is almost 100% complete and correct for DC-4/6/7 and C-46s, as far as I can say.

Would be great to get rid of a couple of debts I owe you in 2021. If you can announce a possible arrival in the DUS area 2 weeks ahead I should be able to get the necessary amount of days out off my duties at work. Then again I'll be on the road or in the air as often as possible next year but for reasons unexplained nothing is planned at the moment.

AMS,FRA,BRU are all within reach in less than 3 hours and of course I could offer a ride or two. But I better tell you in front: If your cars would be Daks they would be fully overhauled ones waiting for delivery to some posh fanatic in Oshkosh while mine would be one that had too many hard landings in the rain forest forced by the Columbian drug squad. The driver will not be drunken at all times (which might lead to conflict) and is seldomly mentioned to be a perfect gentleman.

Otherwise I can't see too many handicaps, if not another pandemic or no end to the current one, which I'm convinced will hamper us at least until April.

Latest batch all added for you. I only ever got to fly one trip on a Caravelle when I first started working for SAS in 1973. I remember the LHR-CPH leg was fast - but noisy!

I'll definitely try to come over sometime next year if we can sync diaries. With my busy wedding schedule (most postponed from this year) and you flying around the world in search of more Daks to keep me busy, I'm sure we can try to arrange something if we're allowed to travel again (and Germany allows me in after Brexit !).

Hi Brian,

Thank you very much. I never flew in a Caravelle. In fact the oldest plane I ever flew in was HK-3637X Fairchild F.27-A Aires taking me back from VVC to BOG in 1996 in thick fog making a usual 30 min flight last an hour. Not the finest hour in my life since I was aware of a couple of crashes in BOG caused by fog.

If they close the borders because 28 countries can't agree on Brexit, then we're all in the crap and Aer Lingus & Ryanair will go bust as they won't be allowed to fly in British airspace and will have to go around us!

I know Norway is expensive as I worked for SAS for 17 years, and to buy booze you have to go to a government run shop and show your national ID card (so they know if you're an alcoholic or not by the amount & frequency you buy - that's why I live in the UK as we don't have ID cards ha ha !). Iceland is even worse. I was last there in 1975 and I think I was paying the equivalent of GBP8 (11 Euros) for a pint of beer then.

Maybe we can meet on an oil rig in the North Sea to avoid all the French fishermen?!

Well I did promise everyone that if you let me have your lists by 16th December I'd put them in before I close on 18th - and I've done just that.

Your AT-6D was a little bit tricky as the c/n you gave me was for USN SNJ-4 27787 which went to France & Morocco. I managed to do a lot of digging and found the c/n is 88-14383 and is ex 41-33820, RAF EX847 & SAAF 7429 (hence the mks on D-FASS now).

Now off to sort out the PAF Nomads that someone has put on another thread instead of using this one!!

I've tried to find c/ns for MI-8's 28 yellow & 93 yellow but can't find the right ones. I can see them being at Novosibirsk but can't find the right c/n's;

27 yellow is a choice of 2. One was active with the Strategic Rocket Forces and wfu 11.1.2008; the other was active in 2001 (although I can't see it based at Novosibirsk) with the AF and is now with the FSB. I've put them both in the DB.

26 yellow has 9 diff Mi-8 records in my files but I think your bird is the current one (c/n 129291) that was active in 2000 and still is (in the DB).

I searched for any Guardia Civil chopper carrying anything but 09 and found one that could be 08 because of the shadows on it on the picture. Must have been a quick look while it was moving anyway,since I didn't even recognize the type.

I really can't say why the Russians sold their military transports to civilians. Maybe out of the same reason the Yankees sold their Daks. Maybe they needed cash?

Your 2nd huge list has now been added but I think you're getting lockdown fever as a few of them were already in the DB with your sightings logged!

Unfortunately, I can't find anything about your UAE chopper P-783, not even a code!

The only serials that high are Bo105s P-786-P-789. P-787 was w/o 10Aug94 so that's not it. The other 3 all serve(d) with Sharjah Police. P-786 was wfu and pres at Dubai Mens College downtown Dubai 11.2004 so could be that but I think it's probably P-788 and the heat haze made it look like P-783. I've put them in the DB anyway.

Great job. I got no explanation for a second request for F-RAWE but lockdown fever causing a typo while searching.

The other mistake I must admit was not informing you,that REGISTRATION DETAILS FOR N427CV (SAFARI PBY (RENO NV)) 5A- was in DB already just with a missing history. You didn't check either and now N427CV is a double entry.

The rest must rather be explained with YOU suffering under logdown fever:
