I've sent you a few emails (both to taxiwayalpha and your personal email) but with no response so can only assume they're dropping into spam somewhere.

I've had lots of requests from members asking me to 'clean up' the military fleet lists with regard to aircraft types. Here's the latest from Dougie...

in Sri Lanka AF just a small point but there's lot of duplication: 4 Mi-171s and 1 Mil-Mi 171; Be.200 and Beech King Air 200; HS748 and a BAe748; Convair 440 and CV440; S51 and Sikorski S51; An32 and Antonov An32; You get the picture. there's more. Can these be combined/rationalised?

I've already cleaned up the fleet list names of some forces (there were 4 different versions of the Ecuadorian AF!!) and I've tried to put all the aircraft types the same, but you'll see from Dougie's example that when you look at the fleet list and click on Mil Mi-171 there are no aircraft (because I've edited them to Mi-171) but they don't all show under the one type and the text still shows for the 'old' type. Is there any way I can clean these up, or is that something you can do?

Also there's a lot of serials that have been added containing a '/' so nobody can access them. I've tried pulling up their historic reg's (where possible) and editing them that way by removing the '/' and putting callsigns etc. in parenthesis, but there's a few I can't get to. Is this something you can do?

Lastlly, there's some fleet lists that contain apostrophe's which we can't access (eg: French Air Force-Armee de l'Air) is this something you can access and merge them into the ones I've put without apostrophe's?

Just following on from Brian's message - there was a big more a few years ago to remove all the manufacturer names and just list aircraft by model and type. However that wasn't completed, so there remains inconsistency. there's also for example 737s listed as (eg) model 737-236 and type is blank. It's only a small detail but it kinda messes up the tables! :)

I can't begin to imagine what a mammoth job it is updating all records. Can we as users help?
