The maps have disappeared on the site, is this a permanent move? Mike

Just temporary.

We've always used google maps on the site, which has been free for the last 10+ years. Then suddenly last month we were hit with a bill for £400 - despite nothing changing on the site. I've disabled the maps for now until I can see exactly why we were charged £400 all of a sudden.

If it cant be avoided, we'll switch to some other mapping system (might just do that anyway out of principle!).

the maps for the sightings of a certain aircraft are back, but why does it not show the map in My Sightings and My Flight? Will they appear again?

The maps will return shortly.

It turns out someone hacked our account and was using our google maps api key for fruadulent usage. They ran up a bill of £1,500 in the two months they were using it before we realised what was happening.

We're waiting a few more days for google to monitor usage and sort it all out, then we can re-instate the maps.
