CommentsG-ASGO was on the last leg of a Bombay-Bahrain-Beirut-London flight when it was hijacked over Rhodos by 2 men. The aircraft diverted to Amsterdam Schiphol APT. All 10 crew and 92 passengers were released and the hijackers threw inflammable liquids around the cabin and set the plane on fire. Both men were captured running from the plane. The aircraft was subsequently broken up but one small piece consisting of a fuselage window and part of the surrounding structure still exists in the collection of the Dutch aviation museum Aviodrome, formerly at Schiphol Airport but now relocated to Lelystad Airport as a new aviation themepark.
