| Comments | Collected by a crew from No.45 Ferry Group, RAF, and flown across the South Atlantic via the usual route from Dorval via Gander, Newfoundland - Lagens, Azores - Rabat Sale, French Morocco - Castel Benito, Libya - Lydda, Palestine - Shaibah, Iraq - Drigh Road, Karachi, to Air Command South-East Asia (ACSEA) at Bamrauli (Allahabad), India, usually involving some 53 flying hours. Officially received at ACSEA - Allahabad 23.6.1945 and allocated to No.231 Group/99 Sqn at Dhubalia, Bengal; soc 11.4.1946 at No.322 MU, Chakeri, Kanpur where nearly 100 RAF Liberators were dumped following the termination of Lend Lease agreements; Following Indian independence on 15.8.1947 the MU closed in 11.1947 and the site and aircraft dump passed to the Indian Air Force. |
